The beautiful glacial lake located in the heart of the Julian Alps is approximately 2120 meters long, ranges from 180-500 meters wide and is 30 meters at it's deepest point. To walk around the lake can take you one hour or the whole day as there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants surrounding the 7km journey. The lake is used for fishing, swimming and rowing in the summer and in the winter you can skate on the island. While in Slovenia, one should not miss the Lake Bled Castle tour which features a museum which houses a collection of old furniture, history of the area as well as an old-fashioned print house and Castle Wine cellar. There are numerous B&B's in the area as well as elegant lake front hotels. What a great place to spend some time during your summer vacation. Email me for some super package deals.
