Hvar, Croatia is a tiny relaxed village about 6 hours from Dubrovnik (by ferry and bus) and 2 hours South from Split (by ferry). The ferry pier is about a 20 minute bus ride from the center of town. Hvar is part of the larger central islands group being part of the Adriatic. There are 5 waterfront properties on the sea front where tourists can stay, but the best deal is found by renting out a room or home of a local. There are 3 small supermarkets within the village and getting around is easy using local transportation: buses or taxis. The waters in Hvar, are blue green and make for a perfect summer respite or a great place to just soak up the sun. Hvar is famous for it's pink lavender plants, and Hvar cakes (with the main element being saffron) and distilling of rosemary oil. All of these products are believed in for their use and healing properties for health and beauty. Why not plan a quick fall get-a-way before Labor Day?
